The Planet Around ME! By Mannat Malhotra Sometimes I feel whether it is a blessing or a disguise to be a resident in a populated city like New Delhi. Delhi is rich in heritage and there are various historical monuments like Red Fort, Purana Qila, Humayun tomb, Lotus temple etc. which attract tourists from all over the world. On the flip side is humungous population in this city. I read online that the population of Delhi is approximately 33.8 million . The population pressure can be seen everywhere. There is huge rush in public transport like metro and buses and private vehicle have also mushroomed manifold leading to traffic jams. The population has also brought a heavy toll on the resources which is evident from the growing size of and landfill sites near Gazipur, Okhla and Bhalswa a nd growing filth and litter in public spots.
