Sharing is Caring: A Humble Initiative by Mannat Malhotra
Since my childhood,
I have been taught that sharing is caring. I have been taught to share my toys,
chocolates and other possessions with my siblings and friends. My parents have always
taught me that by sharing you get not only the blessings, but you move towards
becoming a better human being.
I joined Alliance
Francaise in level A 1.1. the year 2022. Before that I was learning French
through informal tuition. My parents always guided me that a foreign language
is an important facet of having an international career and globalizing your
thoughts and actions. Gradually I became comfortable in French and can now read
and write with ease. I am currently studying at A 2.3. level.
I always felt like sharing this knowledge with my siblings, but my youngster brother is five years old and was not interested in learning it from me. During my summer vacation, my father took me to an NGO named ‘Shikshyaly’. This NGO rescues poor children (including rag pickers) and helps them by imparting education.I felt very inspired after meeting these children and got an opportunity to share my knowledge with them.
I was initially thrilled
as well as timid with the idea of teaching these children. Some of them are in
higher classes (10th) and I am only studying in seventh. My parents motivated me and guided me to trust my abilities. I am taking their regular sessions. I am amazed by the results. The children are enthusiastic about learning French and I am
astonished by their pace of learning. I felt butterflies in my stomach when i saw the videos made by Shikshyaly for me.
I feel humbled
and lucky that I got this opportunity to share whatever little I know. My brother
Saahir Malhotra is also motivated and willing to learn French from me. I am thankful to
the Almighty for blessing me with this opportunity to hone my skills, to begin
with my humble initiatives.
